Federal Requirements for RCR Education and Training

Requirements for training in Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) have been issued by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), affecting all NSF awards and selected categories of NIH awards. RCR training typically includes topics such as data acquisition, management, sharing and ownership; conflict of interest and commitment; human subjects; animal welfare; research misconduct; publication practices and responsible authorship; mentor/trainee responsibilities; peer review; and, collaborative science.

Research Compliance Services works to assist faculty and departments with RCR training resource materials and to promote and support RCR education at UO.
